Background & Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, or Interior Design
Experience
3+ plus years of interior design experience (preferably hospitality) & advanced knowledge of furniture, finishes and materials. Working toward NCIDQ licensing.
Technical Skills
AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign & Photoshop), writing custom FF&E specifications, MS Office
Essential Functions
Work with Senior Designer to developFF&E design based on project criteria, program and budget.
Working knowledge of local material resources
Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, fixtures & equipment (FF&E), fabrics, finishes, artwork & accessories.
Create and review furniture plans for content and accuracy to ensure they are fully coordinated with architectural, electrical, RCP and lighting plans and other consultants' drawings
Create graphic presentations that visually communicate the design narrative/intent
Create color & material boards
Develop and maintain project FF&E budget
Provide design support to junior staff and create FF&E specifications. Coordinate presentation of artwork program
Produce and coordinate finish schedule
Participate in construction administration of projects and review submittals and finish samples
Coordinate FF&E installation with all parties
Serve as main point-of-contact to external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, fabricators and purchasing agents
Supervise and mentor Junior Designers and Design Interns
