Position Summary

Wilson Associates is looking for an Operations Director to join our London design studio — who will be responsible of the Project Management of all current projects and daily managerial & operational matters.

Background & Skills

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Project Management.

Experience
5+ years of managing projects.

Technical Skills
AutoCad, Microsoft Office applications, project software.

Language Skills
English, any additional language an advantage

Essential Functions

  • Deliver senior level management supervision of the London office.

  • Manage scheduling of all staff and team assignments.

  • Strong organization, communication, analytical and relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrate high level of performance in project budgeting, contract negotiations, and scheduling.

  • Manage project schedules and deadlines, ensuring compliance with contract and client expectations.

  • Guide the team (and client) through the design implementation process including conceptual, schematic, design development and construction documentation through completion.

  • Facilitate all project kick offs and travels with internal staff and key stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are communicated and understood by all.

  • Participate in staff reviews and provide coaching & mentoring.

  • Resolve administrative issues, and Manpower allocations.

  • Assist with training on project management process and tools.

  • Provide quality control (drawing review) on all projects, must have a strong knowledge of architectural drawings and FF&E requirements.

  • Scheduling and ensuring design reviews occur and are maintained in conjunction with milestone deliverables for each project.

  • Participate in monthly operational calls and contribute to all action items as identified on those calls.

  • Assist WA in the establishment and refinement of best practices of standards of excellence.

  • Contribute to the growth of the company.

  • Monitor project process, efficiency and profitability through actively tracking each aspect of project performance against schedules and critical path.

  • Provide leadership, communication, and coaching to employees, cultivates a motivated employee environment of trust, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.

  • Supports Business Development Team and actively build client relationships.

  • Assist in training and developing Wilson Associates team members in the skills and understanding of firm procedures, methodology, and practices expected for a successful project implementation.

  • Participate in completing work plans, fee forecasts and review of project costing reports.

  • Participate in monthly calls with accounting to review monthly billings and revenues are on target, actively identifying issues and defining resolutions to ensure all financial goals are being met.

  • Identify potential supplemental service opportunities.

  • Assist project managers and design directors with scope management.

  • Comply with all Wilson Associates policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice

  • Responsible for all office related operational matters such as meetings, schedules, office supplies, contracts (cleaning, flowers, supplies, etc.)

  • Responsible of managing office within budget and finding solutions of improvement and cost cutting.
