Joan has always been inspired by buildings and recalls as a child being mesmerized by the views of Los Angeles from the sky-high restaurant in the Bonaventure Hotel, and 20 years later worked with that building’s architect as a lead interior designer on the Renaissance Shaumburg, illustrating the impact architecture and design can have. Joan brings more than 20 years of experience as an interior designer to her role as operations manager for Wilson Associates’ Dallas office. A licensed interior designer with an M.F.A. from Savannah College of Art and Design, Joan has worked on amazing projects across the globe in more than 11 countries. As Operations Manager, Joan acts as the primary liaison between the client and design team, and oversees the entire design process from start to finish. She crafts project goals, reviews all documentation, facilitates meetings and negotiations, and manages her team closely to ensure the client’s vision is realized. When she’s not keeping track of projects and designers, Joan can be found on her daily evening walks through Highland Park while listening to “Fresh Air”, coaching Special Olympics basketball, or toting her “purse puppies” Cupcake and Sprinkles about town.
